So now I can definitely run longer distance (8K is long for me) and this time it feels lot better than my last attempt at this few years ago. I am more relaxed and can do another 2K needed to get 10 just need to take it slow and stay away from injuries... GPS distance in Garmin 610 or to the fact any other Garmin always seems dingy in down town. I got again dinged by 1K approx ..not sure why. This Sunday I am going to try to disable the Auto-Pause feature of Garmin 610 and see how it goes. Hate that i have to start stop timer manually. Hill TRAINING still is not a good idea So Wednesday's run was again hill training and I hated it. I did 3 rounds but much slower though the climb was much faster. Still left ankle gives up but now somewhere midway... Summer is here and I don't know if I can continue running outside this way. It probably need a cap sure or run a lot earlier in the morning. It was good I did a 1.5K look around Sheppard to keep the final destination Davisville station. It worked out perfectly I need a small loop at the end to do 8K. 10K seems like its doable now ...just need to keep practising. Not sure what is bad , Hill training or run under Sun. It was not good I hate the heat and brightness. We did little over 6.4K and I finished all my water and need a bigger bottle for next run. Garmin again had distance mismatch between watches got dinged almost 1Km this time. Its all got to do with the Auto pause feature of Garmin 610. It Pauses when GPS looses signal and I dont; why it kept doing it today. No tunnels /overpass just regular down town buildings throw it off. I hated this part last time too and I still hate it. Almost gave up my ankle today doing the hill loops. This is going to take a lot of training before I can keep good speed. Heart rate shot up as expected and my left weak ankle started to buckle as expected. Got a brace for tomorrow runs Damm the rain did ruin my shoe completely and quite a few people feel same way in the class. Not sure what to get next yet need time to research a bit. With 2 5K clinics and a half 10K clinic my new New balance 880v3 has started to show signs of wear and tear. It short lived though the cushioning and sole is perfect, the sides are starting to tear.
So now I am debating if I should get 880V3 or wait for 880v4. It should come out soon but dont see any official news about it. I could go with 890v4 which is very similar with less cushioning ...or get a discounted 880v3. I am not sure which way to go yet ......Will keep you posted. New Balance 880V3 Or New Balance 890V4 It being long weekend I slept in on Sunday and also had the trainer come in on Sunday so there was no way I was in shape to run on Sunday. I tore some muscle in arm still hurting and so are my hamstrings. In-spite of the pain in Hamstring it feels better on Knees already and the cross training will definitely improve my running in long run. Left the heart rate monitor off this time just went with Garmin 610 and foot pod. Spring is here and rain probably all the rain will wipe all the flowers and cherry blossom. The last 2 runs were in rain and no one stopped. Today was lot better than yesterday. I was not soaked as bad and left my phone. http://www.goodguystri.ca/ Today we got a guy who ran for 100Km race for charity. It was amazing the fact the how fast he was able to get there. Its a fun race from Toronto to Blue Mountain My Garmin heart rate monitor was way off it was as low as 54. With all the rain hard to believe it was contact issue. Hmm need to do more research on Garmin heart rate monitor accuracy . Yesterdays run was completely rain soaked and i took my phone with me. It was all wet and it still survived. Lots of puddles ..drops hitting face hard and it was horrible yet fun run with almost 12 people group. The plan was to get to Eglinton station which maps showed as 6K. When I actually ran ended up going down one more station to Davisville station. I felt good that I could have gone down to one more station. But I had soccer tonight and it would kill me to do both ... Garmin 610 seem to behave today ...looks like it is all proximity to other foot pods and heart rate monitors that throws it off in down town, Not to mention the tall structures that obscure the GPS Click to set custom HTML It was really nice day today not too cold and not hot. I dumped the jacket finally. Jacked did serve one purpose to carry the phone without worry of it falling down. Kaitlin set the pace to 7min/km though she did not run due to injury and it was great to see the team stick to it. Most of them can bolt it at 6min/knm. I signed up to track the last one and I did well. Overall this 5.28K was less tiring and and really good pace. Oh I forgot to take the Garmin 610 with me today, so had to rely on Endomondo phone app. GPS seem to accurate this time and matched what others got. I need to change the battery of my heart rate monitor and get back to my Garmin on Sunday for 7K LSD (Long slow Distance :) ... So finally got my photos for queens baton. I still dont have the one where I am running need to see how to get it. We had our run again ..it was on and off. My heard rate monitor seems to have lost it. It almost had my heart not breathing for the last portion . Someone suggested to replace the battery , I think I should try that. Does anyone else have issues with Garmin heart rate monitor not tracking well... |
