So Friday evening decided to bike back uphill from down town. It was hard but doable I am sure next round back up is going to lot easier. I got to Eglinton in first pass had to get the bike fixed. I like how light Specialized Sirrus is and really not repenting my choice yet. I think it is the best sub 500$ bike for road and off road riding. I got the fenders installed and cage for water bottle. Here is how the ride went. So finally the running room 10K clinic finished as it was great to finish this. I did not do the race as I was on vacation nevertheless i can run more than 10K comfortably. Can imagine last fall when few of us started the learn to run clinic. I have been with few of them for a while now and its turned in to a nice group. We had a excellent coach "Kaitlin" without her it would have been a boring and hard task to achieve. She herself is doing 13 halfs in this year alone, Its a amazing feat. Here is the link to her blog http://yearofhalfs.blogspot.ca/ I had to take 2 Tylenol today the flu is hitting hard and almost was dead before I went out for the run. The legs hurt like hell due to the weakness induced from the flu but did not want to skip the run especially given that it was the last run for the 10K group. it was good 5K run was able to finish in time. I did google before if it was good to run when you are sick and the opinion on runnners world seemed to be mixed. I was hoping sweat out the flu which does seem to work , just makes you feel weaker afterwards. Here is the regular Garmin post I was felling so bad today that had to take Advil to get up and go to work. Was felling week but did not want to give up and ended up doing 5K. Almost got wet today again with last 2 days running or biking in rain did not want to get wet and get more sick. Overall the new Half Marathon group is bit faster than my pace and have not seen much of the old crowd yet. Need new shoes soon and now the news is New Balance 880v4 is not coming till August, might go with 2 shoes strategy and get mizuno or minimus; Need to research a bit just don't have time. It was fantastic sunny morning. Biked down to downtown for the group run. We went down to cheery beach and it was beautiful today. On the way was able to keep up with the group but on way back it all fell apart Overall was slow by 7min with the group and it was decent pace for 10K+. Forgot my Garmin so had to use a app which kind of always gets the distance a bit longer. |
