So it's almost a month since I finished my #STWM. It was a fantastic race and I did 2:17 on my garmin. I was lot more prepared for this race than any of my previous half marathon. I started really well and did my fastest 5k and 10k. At that point I was sure I was going to get my PB. Some where around 14k I lost it mostly mentally started to walk more especially on the small Hill on the way back. Tool one gel and it helped the physical side but I still had given up and was thinking of 2:30. At that point the 2:15 pace bunny passed me.. Than the 2nd pace bunnies passed (10:1). That got me motivated again and I started to run with the pack. Without the pace bunny and the group I would have given up on time. The last stretch on Bay was hard and I got my first cramp. I slowed a bit but by than the end was so close a d there was no stopping. I was really happy to finish and pb this time. Last year I took a break in my running and it did cost me a lot during this half marathon training. At the same time I did pick a injury last year which forced me to stop for a month and I don't want to do that as well. I sighed up for the chilly half clinic like last year and the group is bigger than last time. For the race I bought wind shutter which was fluorescent green and it looks good. But I am not sure how I look in it and if will keep using it.
