This is probably the longest I have had a Android based device that I did not root. Lately HTC has started to lock down the bootloader and uses signature to check the validity of Firmware/Kernel. This made it increasingly hard to exploit a kernel hole to root a device.
Finally "Peter Chou' CEO of HTC bowed down to requests from developers to allow to unlock boot loaders and finally today I used a off the shelf HTC super tool, which used the zegrush exploit to root the device.
I hope AT & T and HTC also release the keys to unlock the Vivid so that we can have some more developers work on the ICS port.
Almost after 2 months ran a sync using titanium backup and flashed a recovery using Rom manager, now need a real ROM.
