So now consistently I am able to run at pace around 6:40min/km. I can feel my progress and 10/15s now saving in each training run now has almost added up to few min. Cloudy weather and over bridges still throw off Garmin 610 GPS but it was 5K route and I finished in 29min. Which probably is my PB. The clouds looked ominous and I was praying it did not rain , I am more worried of getting my shoes wet. I think it damages them faster especially the top mesh starts to deteriorate(soaked) after put in water. It was good run especially after playing soccer in the afternoon, the calfs are still paining but it will ok with rest day planned for tomorrow. So it was back to hill training and its was lot easier this time. Unlike last time I was not exhausted could run back almost non stop. Its getting really getting a lot better now. For a change the GPS of Garmin 610 worked well not drops as last time. The shoes don't seem to bother any more. I need avoid injuries now and see if I can get some strength training to keep fit. I did take my water with me and it rained today , so not lot of use of it. But not having is not an option any more. The next 2 races are back to back soon in 1st week of sept. The night race 10K and the B&O 5K race. The route was usual to canoe place and we did 4 loops and I did a half of the steep hill on return. I wish I could take a snap of the human train we had while running today. It was close to 30 people running in single file and the last person had to race to first and set the pace and keep rotating. I could keep with the group for all the speed runs eventually fell behind. But I eventually was caught up to front of group for a change. I guess the speed runs exhausted and eventually the steady pace helped get ahead. It was good run on a really humid day. The shoes again feel like like they broke-in now, I am not too bothered by there weight now. The GPS of Garmin 610 still struggles especially in cloudy weather not sure if it makes satellite connection weaker. Oh yeah I ran with the fitletic hydration belt. Its so good not to carry a bottle and phone in pocket. I was worried about it bothering me while running or abrasion. Lucky none in my case , did not even notice it. I was hoping it rained to as I did not have to worry about my phone any more. It din't this time next time. Today's run was horrible I was not able to run consistently. There is a slight knee pain which now I think is more psychological than physical. Thats me saying that about me. I did the same thing for my foot injury which now seems to hurt a lot more even walking. The food helps during running but I dont have that when walking. I guess I never run this much and so consistently and for longest I have not had a injury. So I guess now is the time. Need to switch to biking a lot more to keep the training going. Strange today none of the GPS worked well all got sub 9K distance for a 10K route. I guess standalone gps struggle to lock and I don't know if I should blame Garmin 610 or assume that it is not going to get better. This is how my route was. So my trainer did not show up today, and it was really nice outside. I wanted to run but than I have another long run planned for tomorrow morning. So decided to bike it was very casual going through local streets and it was good. I did 10K and it really does not get cardio up as much as running does. But it gets good leg workout without hurting as much as running. I was back at my Running Rival group run for the week. It was regular 5K run east on King to parliament , south to Queens quay and back on York. It was not bad did it a bit slower as it was supposed to be a slow steady run. |
